Renovation of the Tartu Kaubamaja Toidumaailm and ground floor

What makes This Project Special?

The project was particularly exciting for the Savekate team due to the challenge of carrying out renovation work while several shops and access to the center remained open.

“The noisiest renovation work was scheduled for late evenings and nights to minimize disruption to the shopping center’s visitors. The Savekate team made thorough preparations, which ensured the smooth progress of the work,” explained Savekate’s CEO, Mikk Mändmets.

The newly renovated and innovative spaces were unveiled to customers as planned on August 29, 2024.

The interior architectural concept for the common areas was developed by the English architecture firm Highly Creative Minds.

Tartu Kaubamaja’s supermarket is unique both in form and content. Before the renovation, Erkki Laugus, a member of the board of Kaubamaja AS, elaborated: “We are creating a grocery store for our South Estonian customers that is unlike any other in the region. The entire concept of the supermarket is based on a study that analyzed customer journeys and preferences, providing valuable insights on how to build a convenient and logically structured store. It is important to us that the new supermarket is functional for visitors, as well as innovatively sustainable thanks to modern technology.”

We extend our sincere thanks to the client for their trust and excellent cooperation!

A big thank you to the skilled team!

Thanks also to our partners who collaborated with us on this project.
